Practice to Inspire & Nourish the Heart

Yoga is a practice for the purpose of awakening to the truth of our existence. That truth is: We exist to embody and body forth love. This can happen by experiencing and understanding your heart core, called the hrdaya. The hrdaya is the most deepest core of our consciousness from which our mind and emotions have arisen. Through various practices we can begin to step toward and even enter into its deepest core essence. When your awareness touches into the heart core, you are made aware of personal talents you had not been aware of before. You begin to discover your intrinsic wisdom body, through which your personal talents can be much more deeply accessed and enhanced. With these enhanced talents – these deep heart gifts – we each may serve life from a state of loving all we are, loving all we do, and loving all people who step forward for us to serve. This is the power of Awakened Love.
In this half-day, Mark will guide you to begin to more firmly step upon the path to your deep heart self, and to open to the love that you already are.
Our focus will be the organs of the heart, lungs and kidneys, along with the shoulders and hips. We will wring out the connective tissue, or fascia, by using repetitive complementary movements – twists, rotations, backbends and forward bends – in synchronization with the breath. Through this progressive sequence of complementary poses you will release deep and long-held physical barriers in your fascia by changing the elasticity and resting position of your connective tissue. These changes in the fascia will cause emotional tension and mental stress to begin to release, which in turn will allow muscular tension to dissolve. By the end of this practice you will feel more expansive ease and grounded settledness, and increased sensitivity to the flow of your mental and emotional waves.
Meditation + Mantra
Meditation is the most essential practice of Yoga. Mantra practice adds to the efficacy of meditation. In this session, we will use a japa mantra from the Shaiva Tantra path of practice to awaken and enhance ease and steadiness in both the mind and emotional center. Japa will support a more natural entrance and settling into our meditation practice. Mark will then lead you in a simple, yet highly effective, Deep Tantra Meditation practice. This practice is a technology which allows us an ease of entering into the heart core of the hrdaya itself. In the heart core of the hrdaya, your consciousness will naturally open to your inherent free flowing state of giving and receiving. From this state, a deeply grounded and all-embracing quality of love will become your more natural and spontaneous expression.
There is no previous experience in Yoga needed to attend either of these sessions.
